Council Staff Changes
With the upcoming transition, from 11 districts to five, the Council would like to announce the following staff changes effective April 1, 2019.
Deanna.Heisler is the new Family Scouting Director and will give support council-wide to growing our Family Scouting Programs. She will continue as staff advisor to the Exploring District.
Josh Fisher is the District Director over the new Southeast District -covering all of El Dorado, Silverado, London Bridge, Mohave and most of Sunhawk Districts. Assisting Josh is Naveld Amigon. Naveld will continue to give leadership to our Hispanic Outreach Units as well as working with units in the southeast district. Heather Donathan continues covering the southern part of the district and council.
Charles Woodland will give leadership to the new Outreach District. The district will cover all after-school Scouting programs as well as at-risk units throughout all areas of the Las Vegas Area Council, including Beatty, NV.
Please welcome Daniel Sigala to the Las Vegas Area Council Team. Daniel was born in El Paso, TX and has lived there all his life. After graduating High School, he to attended the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), then took a break to focus on his family. He graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelors in Business Administration. After graduation, a passion for youth leadership led him to volunteer at this local church. In 2014, Daniel began his Scouting career, due to his love for youth leadership and the outdoors, at the Yucca Council in El Paso, Texas serving the Wapaha District. Daniel loves basketball, football, camping, and spending time with his wife & 3 children. Daniel will join our team on May 16th and will serve the North District with Shawn McFarland.
Additionally there are several changes within the Support Staff.
With the Retirement of Debbie Gillihan in April, Nancy Hill will assume the duties of Council Controller on April 1, 2019. Nancy will also continue serving as Trading Post Manger and Council Registrar.
Braden Forseywill now serve as a Council Program Specialist. Braden will primarily be responsible for programs to be held at the Engelstad Scout Park. He is also serving as advisor to several Council programs including Mountain Man.
Lois Urbanskiis our new Advancement Clerk. She handles Eagle Scout Application Processing and few other duties. Donna Sword has relocated to the Front Desk and is serving as a Customer Service Specialist.
